Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced last week that 14 of the 171 associations seeking registration as political parties, including the ADA, had scaled the first hurdle of the process.
Following this, there were reports in some quarters that the opposition coalition, which adopted the ADC in July this year, would finally pitch its tent with the ADA when it is finally registered as a political party.
But reacting, Bolaji Abdullahi, told Daily Trust that there is no truth in the rumour, adding that the coalition is committed to making the ADC a truly national democratic party.

ADC is our party – Bolaji Abdullahi declares
“There is no such thing. We have moved on from that. ADC is our party,” Abdullahi replied to our correspondent’s message.
Meanwhile, addressing newsmen at the weekend, the ADC Spokesman, Bolaji Abdullahi said those working to make Nigeria a one-party state were responsible for the series of litigations against the coalition.
“We know from day one that what brought us into the coalition, the very forces that were destabilising the other opposition political parties are not going to allow the ADC coalition to just fly without challenge,” he said.
“ADC will take over power,” Atiku declares
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Atiku Abubakar assured that the newly adopted coalition party, the African Democratic Congress (ADC), will challenge President Tinubu in the 2027 election.
Atiku stated this recently and maintained that Nigeria “can never be a one-party state,” hence the need for the ADC to unseat Tinubu and the ruling APC in 2027.
