As reported by Daily Trust, Tinubu stated this when northeast governors visited him at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.

” In the political environment, we are being drawn into early political activities from our rival political parties, but whichever way it is, I am not distracted. I am solidly focused, focused on what is ahead. Politics will happen at a given time. It is maturity, but what we have seen come from the North East is a great dedication that is yielding results.”

Tinubu said there’s no way politics will not interfere with governance, but urged the northeast governors to work together with him.

“I think working together the way we have been is the way to go to build Nigeria of our dreams. There’s no way politics will not interfere once in a while. It is for us to embrace the heart of winning, and from that heart we know the superior thinkers and doers. Our political party will prove itself eventually.”

Recall that the former Communications Minister Adebayo Shittu predicted that President Tinubu would secure strong support from the South-East in 2027.

Shittu dismissed the “Obi factor,” insisting that key figures like Godswill Akpabio and Dave Umahi would mobilise South-East voters toward APC.

He acknowledged Nigeria’s economic hardships but argued Tinubu’s reforms would eventually bring benefits, urging patience from citizens.
