This announcement comes months after she shattered the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon, a record that was later broken by notable individuals just weeks afterward.
The celebrity chef first announced her plans to cook the largest pot of jollof rice on her page on August 22. On her media page with the handle @hildabaci, she shared that the event would kick off in September, adding a description:
“Almost 2 years ago I had the dream to cook the largest pot of Jollof Rice ever made. And now, with @ginonaija and YOU, that dream is coming alive 6 meters wide. 6 meters tall. 12th September, we make history together.”

Weeks later, she updated her TikTok page with a fresh post showing the progress her pot had made.
She described the moment:
“Seeing this pot finally completed feels surreal my dream is becoming a reality. I’ve feel fear, anxiety, and excitement all at once, but above everything else, my heart is full of gratitude. Less than 3 days to go.”
