2027 Election: Atiku Meets Buhari’s Ex-Appointee, Others Amid Moves to Sack Tinubu, Photos Emerge

FCT, Abuja – Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Tuesday, September 9, held a meeting with stakeholders of the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition from Bauchi state at his Abuja residence.

Legit.ng reports that Atiku, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 election, is one of the politicians leading a coalition of some opposition figuers working to unseat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 election.

Atiku meets ADC coalition members

The coalition has adopted the ADC as a political party, and the previous national officers of the party, including its national chairman, Ralph Nwosu, stepped down for a new set of leaders from the coalition.

A former senate president, David Mark, was named as the interim national chairman, while erstwhile Osun governor, Rauf Aregbesola, and a one-time sports and youth minister, Bolaji Abdullahi, were appointed as national secretary and spokesperson, respectively.

Amid moves to democratically sack President Tinubu, Atiku met with Air Marshal Sadique Baba Abubakar and an ex-senator representing Bauchi Central, Halliru Jika. Air Marshal Abubakar is a former chief of air staff, appointed by now-late former President Muhammadu Buhari in July 2015, a role he served until 2021. Abubakar is married to Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouq, the pioneer humanitarian affairs, disaster management and social development minister who served under Buhari.

Sulaiman Mohammed Nazif, who represented Bauchi North constituency, was also at Tuesday’s meeting.

Atiku wrote on social media with accompanying images:

“Today, I held a meeting with stakeholders of the coalition from Bauchi State, including Air Marshal Sadique Baba Abubakar, Senator Halliru Jika, and Senator Sulaiman Nazif Gamawa, at my residence in Abuja.”

Apostle Oku noted that President Tinubu will be re-elected in spite of the alleged gang up against him by some key politicians in the country.
