On social media, online users rejoiced in the new find.
Posting a picture of one of the boxes, the user who found them said: “Tesco are now selling Greggs frozen sausage rolls £3 a box.”
One excited user said: “Fill ye freezer.”
Another asked: “How can they sell them cheaper than Greggs do?”
A third said: “Love these.”
While another weighed in: “That’s good to know. Iceland have been doing for years but handy for my online Tesco shop.”
It was announced in June that the iconic bakery chain would be launching frozen products in Tesco this year.
The new range includes five products.
They are available at over 800 Tesco stores across the country.
Greggs’ “Bake at Home” frozen range includes a number of fan favourite food items.
While the range is already available at Iceland, it is now going country-wide with Tesco.
The frozen goodies originally launched in 2011, when the iconic sausage rolls were sold in frozen form in 10 stores across Liverpool.
In the years since, the Iceland range has extended to 15 beloved products.
It includes the Greggs Sausage Rolls, Cheese & Onion Bakes, Sausage, Bean & Cheese Melts, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, and Bacon & Cheese Wraps, as well as Vegetable Bakes and Vegan Sausage Rolls.
Earlier this year, The Sun tested all the own-brand sausage rolls from the major supermarkets to see which are the best value for money – and whether they beat Greggs.
We scored them out of 10 for taste and 10 for value, taking into account the pork content and price for a 360g pack of six.
