Taraba: Tragedy as 100 Level Student Found Dead in Boyfriend’s Room

There was a tragedy at the Taraba State University (TSU) in Jalingo on Friday, September 12, when a 100-level student of the institution was found dead at her boyfriend’s apartment. The circumstances in which she was found have sparked concerns and shock within the school community.

The student, who was identified as Comfort Jimtop, a mass communication student, hailed from the Takum local government area of the state. She was discovered dead in the afternoon. It was reported that beside the bed where her body was found, there were empty bottles of alcohol.

Daily Trust reported that the incident happened at a house of 15 tenants, and Comfort’s boyfriend, identified as Emmanuel Shata, is included. Sources disclosed that all occupants left the house after the body was discovered.

Police confirm Taraba student’s death

The incident has been confirmed by ASP Leshen James, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of Taraba State Command. He added that the police have started making efforts to track down the fleeing tenants and the prime suspect.

James explained that no one was at the residence when the police arrived at the house. He said that the boyfriend and other suspects have fled the compound. The police further assured that its operatives were committed to uncovering the truth behind the death of the student.

He added that the police will carry out a thorough investigation to get to the root of the matter. The incident has led to anxiety among residents and students as the investigation continues into the circumstances surrounding the situation.

Account found death in her car

This came days after Kasham Thomas, the female accountant of the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria, was reportedly found dead inside her car in the Gwarimpa area of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, on Monday, September 8.

The deceased, who is suspected to be a labourer at a construction site within the complex. He was found in a red Peugeot 406 with registration number BWR-577 BF at about 9 am on Sunday, September 7.

Police explain how road accident kill 12

Legit.ng earlier reported that Imo state experienced a severe motor accident where no less than 12 people died, while eight others were reportedly injured.

According to the police, the accident happened around 9 pm on Sunday, September 7, on the Owerri-Onitsha Road expressway.
