Dangote makes promises to workers

Legit.ng earlier reported that the management of Dangote Refinery has assured its workers of fair treatment and respect for their rights.

The assurance which was made in a statement released on Sunday, September 14 comes amid growing tension with the Nigerian Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) over union representation at the oil facility.

The company once again stressed that it was not opposed to unionism and acknowledged the right of employees to freely associate, in line with Nigeria’s labour laws and international labour standards. However the management noted that the principle of voluntarism must guide industrial relations.
