Phil Foden netted the opener before a brace from Erling Haaland saw the Cityzens take the bragging rights in the Manchester derby.

The defeat leaves United 14th in the Premier League table with just one win in their first four matches.

They find themselves already eight points adrift of pace-setters Liverpool.

It is United’s worst start to the Prem season since 1992/93 season, although Sir Alex Ferguson did lead the club to the title.

It was also the 20th time in 47 matches that Amorim has ended a game on the losing side as United manager.

The record has left Neville concerned for the former Sporting Lisbon boss.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Neville said: “I’m worried about the manager, I’m worried about what’s going to happen in this next few weeks

“I don’t think it’s a time for panic, but I’ve seen this before, we’ve seen this film.”

Amorim has only won eight of his 31 Premier League games as United manager.

Neville has also insisted that results must improve quickly following the summer investment in new players.

Why Man United Could Play Midweek Friendlies Abroad

United added the likes of Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, Benjamin Sesko and Senne Lammens to the squad in a £200MILLION splurge.

Neville added: “We can’t be getting into October where Man Utd are 14th or 15th in the league otherwise the manager will be in trouble.

“They have to start winning quickly.

“Next week if they lose [against Chelsea], they would go to 15th and 16th.

Man Utd ratings vs Man City: Mbeumo forces wonder save from Donnarumma but that’s as good as it gets

MANCHESTER UNITED’S miserable start to the season continued after they were brushed aside by neighbours Man City.

Ruben Amorim’s side were unable to come back with a bang after the international break, falling to a 3-0 away defeat.

Phil Foden opened the scoring for City after just 18 minutes with a glancing header that gave Altay Bayindir – keeping his spot despite the arrival on Ssnne Lammens – little chance to stop.

While Erling Haaland did what he does best by bagging a second-half brace to put the hosts out of reach.

United now sit 14th in the table, with City leapfrogging them with their second win of the season.

Premier League table since Amorim's first game.

“And that’s where they can’t be, having spent £200million and giving him a pre-season.

“It’s five games in and before you know it you’re in October and they’re in the bottom half of the table.

“There’s got to be a turnaround pretty quickly, and the manager’s idea has got to land very quickly with the players.”

United face a tricky couple of matches before October unbeaten Chelsea visit Old Trafford on Saturday.

They then have a visit to West London scheduled to face Keith Andrews’ Brentford.
