Dangote Petroleum Refinery on Monday, September 15 kicked off direct to customer free petrol distribution.
The launch, delayed by a month due to logistics setbacks in China, coincides with the one-year anniversary of petrol production at the $20 billion facility.

The refinery said more than 1,000 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered trucks will be deployed in the first phase of its direct-to-station distribution scheme.
Dangote ordered 4,000 CNG trucks from China but said only 1,000 had arrived by late August, with more shipments expected weekly.
New petrol price from Dangote refinery
In a statement, Dangote Group stated that under the programme, the refinery said the gantry price of petrol would drop to N820 per litre.
While at filling stations pump prices will ranged between ₦841 in Lagos and Southwest states and ₦851 in Abuja, Rivers, Delta, Edo, and Kwara.
A nationwide roll-out is planned as more trucks are delivered.
Dangote said the transition to CNG-powered distribution could save the Nigerian economy over N1.8 trillion annually by slashing logistics costs, reducing inflationary pressure, and revitalising dormant filling stations.
The group is targeting 10,000 CNG trucks by year-end.
IPMAN urged members to register with Dangote
The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) said it in support of the initiative and have urged its members to register, Punch reports.
In a memo issued by IPMAN President Alhaji Abubakar Maigandi and National Secretary Hon. James Terlumun Tor, the association instructed all zonal and depot chairmen to ensure compliance.
The memo stated that members who have renewed their IPMAN membership per the 2009 Constitution can now make payments and access petroleum products from the Dangote Refinery.

But rival marketers raised concerns. The Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria (DAPPMAN) dismissed the Dangote free distribution as a “Greek gift” designed to stifle competition.
It also accused Dangote of selling fuel to international traders at cheaper rates than to local buyers.
Dangote rejected the claim, interests were behind recent union criticism of its operations.
The company also accused CNG supplier NIPCO of doubling gas prices to frustrate its trucking rollout, though NIPCO declined to comment.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has suspended its nationwide strike following a resolution with Dangote Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited.
The industrial action, which began on Tuesday, September 9, was triggered by allegations that the private crude oil refinery in Lagos intended to restrict its employees from joining registered labour unions.
