A THRIFTY homeowner has revealed how a drab and dreary kitchen was given a stunning makeover for just £121 and the results look like it cost thousands.

The budget transformation started with a fresh lick of paint.
The cupboards were coated in Tikkurila paint in the shade Drop Cloth, a colour made famous by Farrow & Ball, for £30.
A tin of V33 white satin paint from B&Q was used to brighten the units, giving the whole room a clean and modern finish.
To complete the look, she added sleek gold handles from Amazon to cupboards and drawers for just £15, instantly lifting the space with a luxe touch.
The worktops were refreshed using B&Q worktop paint for £40, while the walls were finished in a soft neutral shade costing £36.
Altogether, the chic revamp came in at £121, which is a fraction of the price of a brand-new kitchen.
The transformation has been praised online.
One fan said: “It looks amazing”.
Another added: “I absolutely love this.”
By mixing bargain buys with clever paint choices, the kitchen now has a high-end look without the high-end price tag.
Council house kitchen renovation
Meanwhile, a DIY enthusiast has revealed that she gave her council house kitchen a total transformation, all whilst on a budget.
Morg Campbell, a DIY fan from the UK, explained that she wanted to make her council house kitchen more homely.
As a result, she used bargain buys from Temu and Amazon to create the ultimate “council country kitchen”.
Keen to show off a before and after look at her pad, Morg took to social media to share her impressive overhaul, leaving many open-mouthed.
Posting on DIY On A Budget, a private Facebook group with 2.2 million members, alongside snaps of her kitchen, which is now incredibly trendy and chic, Morg penned: “I have been decorating my ‘council kitchen’ as when we moved in it really needed some TLC.”
Her budget-friendly project saw cupboards transformed using Hessian Rust-Oleum kitchen cupboard paint, which is sold at B&Q, Dunelm and Robert Dyas.
Rather than splashing out on expensive shelves, Morg crafted her own rustic “scaffolding shelves” from second-hand wood, with brackets picked up on Amazon.
The worktops were covered with DC Fix vinyl wrap, available from Amazon, B&Q, The Range and Very, while stick-on tiles from Temu – costing just £2.35 – gave the room a completely fresh look.
Even smaller touches came with clever savings, with a new chopping board picked up from Poundland.
Sharing the finished results, Morg told fellow DIY fans: “Definitely not perfect but ok for on a budget! Let me know what you think.”
The transformation was a hit with social media users, who rushed to praise the new look.
