Medicine, Pharmacy, Law, CLA Top as UI Releases Admission Cut-off Marks

  • University of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria, has released its admission cut-off marks
  • The admission cut-offs emerged barely three weeks after the University conducted its post-UTME examination
  • In a document released by the Admissions Office of the University and obtained by Legit.ng Correspondent shows that Medicine and Surgery (College of Medicine) tops the list with 78.875%

University of Ibadan has released its cut-off marks for its various academic programmes in the 2025/2026 Academic Session.

While the highest cut-off mark is 78.875%, the lowest is 50%.

Legit.ng gathered that the cut-off scores released by the Undergraduate Admissions Unit of the University herald the 2025/2026 admission.

MBBS, law, CLA top the list

The admission document titled University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Undergraduate Admission Unit 2025/2026 Amission Exercise: Cut Off Marks has Medicine and Surgery (College of Medicine) topping the list with 78.875%, whereas cut off for Law is 70.875, Mechanical Engineering (Faculty of Technology) is 70.5% while Communication and Language Arts (Faculty of Arts) have 61% as its cut-off marks.

The document also showed that those who intend to study Electrical and Electronic Engineering must score 70% aggregate, Pharmacy 69.125% aggregate, Dentistry 68,625%, Nursing 71.375%, Medical Laboratory Science 63.25%, Linguistics 56.875%, and English 56.5%.

50% score has a chance

Some of the courses available, such as Agriculture-related courses, Arts, Education and Science have 50% as cut-off marks.

These courses include History, Philosophy, Anthropology and Archaeology, Classical Studies, Botany, Chemistry, Geography, Quantity Surveying and Estate Management, and Zoology.

All states of the federation are catchment areas but ELDS are given preference

University of Ibadan has all states of the Federation and the FCT as its catchment areas while giving allowance to the educationally Less Developed States (ELDS) as required by the regulations.

Educationally less-developed States are Adamawa, Bayelsa, Kaduna, Plateau, Rivers, Kogi, Ebonyi, Cross River, Zamfara and others.

University of Ibadan’s admission is the aggregate of both UTME and Post-UTME scores.

While the university awards 50% to UTME, the same percentage is appropriated to its post-UTME

This is a clear departure from the old method of evaluating O’Level and Post-UTME.

With the release of the cut-off marks, the 2025-2026 admission process has commenced in the 77-year-old institution of learning.
