Breaking: Head of Imams and Alfas Aladesawe in Osun is Dead as Details Emerge

Osun stateThe Chief Imam of Owo who is also the Chairman of the Ondo state League of Imams and Alfas, Alhaji Ahmad Oladoke Aladesawe, has been declared dead.

The spiritual leader died at the age of 91 on Monday, September 15, at the Federal Medical Centre in Owo, Ondo state.

As reported by Nations, the Muslim leader’s death was confirmed to journalists on Tuesday, September 16, by Alhaji Kamorudeen Ishola, a Muslim leader in Owo.

Speaking, Ishola described the late cleric as “a respected Islamic scholar.

He added that Aladesawe, who is also a community leader, devoted his life to the growth of Islam in the country.”

Osun: Burial set in Owo

As reported by Vanguard, the late Imam and leader will be laid to rest on Tuesday afternoon, September 16, in his hometown of Owo.

The burial rites will be done in accordance with Islamic rites and is scheduled to hold for 2pm.

Before his passing, Sheikh Aladesawe also served as the Secretary General of the League of Imams and Alfas in the South-West, as well as Edo and Delta States.

Muslim youth organisation mourns

The National Council of Muslim Youth Organisations (NACOMYO) in Ondo State expressed its condolences to Aladesawe’s family, the Owo Muslim community and the wider nation.

Alhaji Abdulwaasii Yusuf, State Commissioner of NACOMYO, said in a statement that Baba was a strong pillar of support for the organisation and one of the greatest Islamic scholars ever to live in Ondo State and beyond.

He praye that Allah would accept his good deeds, forgive his shortcomings, and grant him Jannatul Firdaus.

Aladesawe was widely admired for his contributions to the spread of Islam and his role in promoting peace across Ondo State and beyond.

Sympathisers have described his death as a monumental loss to the Muslim community and the state. Prayers have been offered for Allah (SWT) to grant him eternal rest in Aljana Firdaus.
