Social media users are reacting to the story of a woman who died after being deported from the United States.
The woman and her daughter were arrested and detained by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

On June 30, they had gone to Los Angeles for their routine immigration check-in, but they were detained.
The woman, known as Estela Ramos Baten and her daughter, Nory Sontay Ramos, were later deported.
After their deportation to Guatemala, Estela became ill, and she even refused to be taken to the hospital for fear of violence.
Her daughter, Nory, said:
“She barely slept. She just kept thinking about our situation and the possibility of the gang finding us. She was very worried.”
She told her daughters that she felt she was going to die.
Her words, per MSNBC:
“I feel like I’m going to die.”
Nory alleges that her mother’s medication was taken from her and they were not returned. Her mother suffered from liver disease.
She said:
“I want people to know that my mom’s medications were taken away and not returned. They took away my mother’s medicine. I had no way to help her.”
However, MSNBC quoted the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement as saying the woman was given medication.
ICE said:
“During her short stay [at the Dilley Immigration Processing Center], she was given a medical evaluation and prescribed the medications she needed.”
They had moved to the US in 2016, and they have lived there until they were deported. The Trump administration has stepped up the deportation of people living in the US without proper documentation.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that a lady said she was deported from the country where she lived with her parents, and she has shared her experience.
According to the lady who is from Nigeria, she was told that she had to leave the country after she turned 18.
She shared a video on TikTok narrating how she felt when she was asked to leave the country she had lived in for a long time.
