A journalist has been sacked from her job after she made a post about Charlie Kirk.
The post she made did not sit well with her employers and she was dismissed from her position.

The journalist is identified as Karen Attiah and she has been working for the Washington Post for over a decade.
According to a report by CNN, after Charlie Kirk was killed at Utah Valley University, Karen Attiah shared a post on Bluesky, paraphrasing the late conservative figure.
The post reads:
“Black women do not have the brain processing power to be taken seriously. You have to go steal a white person’s slot” -Charlie Kirk.”
The paraphrase is from a comment made in a video by Charlie Kirk while speaking on his podcast in 2023.
In another post, she said:
“I wish I had hope for gun control and that I could believe “political violence has no place in this country”. But we live in a country that accepts white children being massacred by gun violence. Not just accepts, but worships violence.”
Also on Bluesky, the journalist shared another post about two other top public figures killed similarly in America.
She said:
“For everyone saying political violence has no place in this country… Remember two Democratic legislators were shot in Minnesota just this year. And America shrugged and moved on. Part of what keeps America so violent is the insistence that people perform care, empty goodness and absolution for white men who espouse hatred and violence. Again. I don’t care for empty rhetoric.”
The posts came in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s murder and her employers were not impressed.
In blog post she made on Substack, Attiah confirmed that she was sacked.
Her words:
“Last week, the Washington Post fired me. The reason? Speaking out against political violence, racial double standards, and America’s apathy toward guns.”
The news of her dismissal was later shared on TikTok by Fox News and it got many reactions.

The decision to fire her came after what she said about Charlie Kirk went viral and attracted condemnation.
The Middle Tennessee State University issued a statement saying the staff member had been sacked after her post went viral.
