MARRIED At First Sight groom Steven was ripped apart by the experts and his fellow co-stars after he FINALLY revealed he was on a dating app.
After weeks of vehemently denying that he had been blocked from Hinge and had been catfished, Steven decided to come clean in front of the group at tonight’s reunion commitment ceremony.
It comes after Steven yesterday admitted that he only sent flirty messages to Julia-Ruth to “p***” her off.
On tonight’s show, a VT of their time in the marriage was played to the group, which showed Steven flirting with April during Partner Swap Week.
The experts hit out at Steven for “manipulating” Nelly, to which he said he was constantly deflecting throughout the experiment.
He admitted: “I didn’t give you the bare minimum.
“She’s the first genuine real person and I’ve done this to her.”
Mel Schilling admitted Steven’s revelation that he messaged Julia-Ruth to get under Nelly’s skin was done out of “spite”.
Nelly said: “It’s just the deceit. How could I be sleeping next to this person that is so different to what they’re saying?
“Because you’re good at lying. I find that so bizarre.”
Steven explained: “Here I’ve been the worst version of myself and I don’t think I can get any worse.
“You’ve made me look inwards, you’re the first person that’s made me do it and I’m thinking ‘fix up’.”
But the experts weren’t buying it and Charlene Douglas was quick to step in and tell him that it sounded textbook.
She said: “The reflection has been so deep that everything you’re saying is ‘I’m so bad, everyone else is really good’, it just doesn’t add up.”
Steven insisted he was being “raw”, but Charlene said throughout her career she had never seen such a dramatic turn-around.
But it was crunch time as Nelly finally wanted Steven to come clean about his dating app antics while married to her.
Nelly asked: “Are you going to finally admit the dating app thing?”
Steven replied: “I’ve acted cowardly, it’s not nice knowing how I’ve made you feel.”
A furious Rebecca jumped and said: “You talk and talk and talk to try and talk yourself out of this.”
The group continued to press him for an answer.
Under pressure, Steven said: “F****** hell, I’ll put my hands up to it.”
Expert Mel intervened to say: “Let’s just be clear, you’re now saying after everything you said on the couch, you actually lied, you did have a profile on a dating app.”
An ashamed Steven replied: “Yeah,” leaving the group stunned.
A disgusted Leah said: “That’s sick, you’ve been caught out.”
While Rebecca raged: “You swore and now weeks later you’ve had some sort of epiphany.
“You’ve not once sat with her and said ‘I am sorry’ and stopped talking.”
A furious Mel hit out for him “blatantly lying”.
While Paul slammed Steven for “ripping Nelly’s heart out and stamping all over it”.
It comes just a week after Steven claimed to have proof that he had been catfished.
We Steven and Nelly finally leave the experiment, with her insisting he’d made no effort in their relationship.
Just hours later he went public with his new girlfriend, posting a picture of them enjoying a date night.
He shared a snap of him having cocktails with his new flame, mum Kelsey Horlock.
