The survivor of the June 12 Air India crash, Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, was still recovering from the trauma of the accident, his wife has revealed
The Air India plane, Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, en route to London, crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, India.

The aircraft, which was supposed to land at London’s Gatwick airport, crashed near the airport in Ahmedabad and exploded in a fireball.
The plane crash killed 241 people on board, and only the 40-year-old British citizen, Vishwash, survived.
Air India plane crash survivor’s wife speaks
Vishwash, who was sitting in seat 11A, survived the crash with cuts and injuries, but his brother, with whom he was travelling, died in the fatal accident.
His wife, who spoke to The Times, revealed that her husband had remained in India since the incident and was still undergoing treatment.
She said he was still shattered by the loss of his brother, who sat across the aisle when the plane crash happened.
She said:
“I’m not sure when he’s coming back to the UK as his treatment is going on. Everything happened in front of him and the main thing is he lost his brother. He’s not talking to anyone in the media, even in India.”
Ramesh had been travelling back to the UK when the accident occurred.
But after surviving the crash, the father-of-one had remained in India with his wife and son, who are supporting him as he tries to live a normal life.

Ramesh’s recovery process after Air India crash
Weeks after the accident, Ramesh’s cousin revealed that the sole survivor was undergoing a new treatment.
The cousin of Vishwash, who gave the update, shared details about the new treatment that he has started.
Shortly after, another relative had earlier stated that Ramesh couldn’t sleep at night, but when he did, he dreamt that he was on the flight.
Preliminary investigation report on plane crash released
In a related story on Legit.ng, the preliminary report on the investigation of the June 12 Air India plane crash was released a month after the incident.
An investigation by India’s Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau revealed that the fuel control switches of the Air India plane were moved to the cut-off position moments before the plane crashed.
The report sparked reactions from many, including the chief executive officer of Air India, Campbell Wilson, who noted that despite giving clarity on the case, the report still raised more questions about the incident.
