Holding a free agent

Former Arsenal star Rob Holding has been left without a club after leaving Crystal Palace.

A club statement read: “Crystal Palace F.C. can confirm that Rob Holding has left the club.

“Holding joined Palace in September 2023 from fellow Premier League side Arsenal.

“The defender spent the latter half of last season on loan at Sheffield United, where he played 12 times.

“The club wishes Rob well for his future career.”

Kitted out

Arsenal have unveiled their brand new 2025-26 third shirt – and fans think it’s a masterpiece.

The new strip is based on the much-loved “Chapman Edition” away kit from the 2007/08 campaign.

Arsenal stars return to training

Jurrien Timber and Gabriel Magalhaes both took part in Arsenal training today ahead of tomorrow’s friendly against Villarreal.

The duo both underwent surgery earlier this year on respective injuries and were not available for the club’s pre-season tour of Asia.

Kepa Arrizabalaga, who missed last week’s defeat to Tottenham with a minor injury, was also present in training.

Wilshere to make Arsenal return

Jack Wilshere could be making a big return to Arsenal’s coaching staff.

The former midfielder, previously the club’s under-18s boss before leaving for Norwich, is a leading candidate to take over the under-21s.

There is a vacancy because previous manager Mehmet Ali has joined Brentford as part of Keith Andrews’ first-team staff.

Wilshere, 33, was caretaker manager at Norwich for the final two games of the season.

He wanted the job on a permanent basis but left the club after being told he would not get it.

In July 2022, four days after announcing his retirement from playing, Wilshere was announced as the new head coach of Arsenal under-18s and he led them to the final of the 2022-23 FA Youth Cup final.
