Adding a photo to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook page, they said: “B&M bargains today, things reduced to (as) little as 10p.”
The post has notched up hundreds of likes and comments from shoppers amazed at the finds.
Others have queried how to find cut price deals like this in their local branch. We reveal how below.
Remember, whenever you’re looking at bargains like this, shop around to ensure you’re getting the best price.
Just because a retailer has discounted a product that doesn’t mean you can’t get the same or similar for less elsewhere.
You can use price comparison websites like Trolley, Price Runner and Price Spy to compare prices on thousands of products.
Or, you can use the Google Shopping/Product tag to quickly scan the internet and compare prices between the major retailers.
If you’re looking for 10p bargains in your local B&M branch, there is one quick way you can find them though – the B&M scanner app.
The app can be downloaded for free on to your smartphone via the Apple App Store or Google Play.
Once downloaded, you use the camera on your phone to scan barcodes and find out their true price.
It sometimes shows up products that have been slashed to just 10p.
The app also offers you a description of the product you are scanning.
How else to save money at B&M
You’ll want to head down to your nearest B&M branch early on a Wednesday.
You can find your nearest store via www.bmstores.co.uk/stores.
This is when staff reduce prices on items to as little as 10p to clear space for new stock, according to one ex B&M manager.
It’s worth signing up to Facebook pages dedicated to hunting for bargains from B&M and other discounters too.
Some worth joining are B&M Bargains, Extreme Money Saving Deals and More and Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group.
Meanwhile, B&M super shopper Sam Penney recently revealed some of her top tips for bagging a bargain at the retailer.
She said it’s always worth scanning the last item left on shelves with the scanner app.
Because it’s the last one, it may have been discounted in price to try and make way for new stock.
The savvy saver said shoppers should check the packaging on products as well, as it might be discounted.
Always speak to staff in your local branch as well – they might be able to signpost you to some of the best deals.
How to bag a bargain
SUN Savers Editor Lana Clements explains how to find a cut-price item and bag a bargain…
Sign up to loyalty schemes of the brands that you regularly shop with.
Big names regularly offer discounts or special lower prices for members, among other perks.
Sales are when you can pick up a real steal.
Retailers usually have periodic promotions that tie into payday at the end of the month or Bank Holiday weekends, so keep a lookout and shop when these deals are on.
Sign up to mailing lists and you’ll also be first to know of special offers. It can be worth following retailers on social media too.
When buying online, always do a search for money off codes or vouchers that you can use vouchercodes.co.uk and myvouchercodes.co.uk are just two sites that round up promotions by retailer.
Scanner apps are useful to have on your phone. Trolley.co.uk app has a scanner that you can use to compare prices on branded items when out shopping.
Bargain hunters can also use B&M’s scanner in the app to find discounts in-store before staff have marked them out.
And always check if you can get cashback before paying which in effect means you’ll get some of your money back or a discount on the item.
