Pioneering Tech Leader Shapes Africa’s Digital Future with Human-Centred Leadership
The Global Visionary Leadership Summit 2025, held at the Silverbird Galleria in Abuja under the theme “Empowering Leaders: Inspiring Impact,” convened leading innovators, policymakers and thought-leaders from across Africa.
Among the honoured guests was African Youth Ambassador, Amb. Charity Egua, Product Manager and Co-Founder of We EarnIT Nig Limited who also served as a panelist. In recognition of her outstanding achievements in digital transformation, ethical innovation, and inclusive leadership, Egua received the prestigious Digital Tech Leader of the Year Award.
According to the organisers, Egua was selected for her exemplary record in leading tech-driven solutions that promote financial inclusion and youth empowerment. Her work at We EarnIT Nig Limited has helped young Africans access remote digital jobs and training opportunities, while her contributions at Ocean Trends Digital as Product Manager have advanced user-centred design in fintech and education platforms across multiple markets. She has also mentored emerging developers and women in tech through community programmes and digital upskilling initiatives.
During the panel session titled “Beyond Authority: Building Influence and Trust as a Leader,” Egua offered a compelling viewpoint on modern leadership.
“In today’s digital world, authority alone doesn’t inspire action, authentic connection does. Empathy and accountability help leaders build trust that sustains innovation and long-term impact,” she said.
Her remarks emphasised that technology must be guided by human values such as compassion, emotional intelligence and responsibility, to truly drive influence and inclusion.
The summit featured an elite lineup of African leadership voices, including Hon. Senator Shehu Sani, Minister of Youth Development Ayodele Olawande, HRH Mrs. Omu Onyebuchi Okonkwo, Fafa Gozo, Dame Dr. Mary Anne-Mensah, Dr. Khadijah Musa Sadiqah, Hon. Zinab Buba Galadima CFR, and others.
The event was hosted by Amb. Dr. Chinwe Lillian, Founder of Lilian Ike Foundation, and Convener of the Global Visionary Leadership Summit.
“We honour leaders who are redefining excellence through innovation, collaboration and empathy. These are the values that will shape Africa’s next decade of transformation,” she said.
In her closing remarks, Egua expressed deep gratitude for the recognition and reaffirmed her commitment to advancing ethical tech, digital inclusion and youth empowerment across Africa and globally.
“This honour strengthens my resolve to keep championing digital transformation that prioritises people. My goal is to bridge the gap between innovation and human impact, not just in Africa, but on the global stage.”
With her growing influence in the digital leadership space, Charity Egua represents Africa’s new generation of global tech talents, visionaries building technology that empowers, connects and transforms communities.
