Darts star Ryan Searle reveals he was FARTED ON in awkward incident hours after winning Players Championship

RYAN SEARLE has revealed he got FARTED ON after winning the recent Players Championship!

The World No.19 claimed his second title of the year after beating Mario Vandenbogaerde 8-6 in the final at the Mattioli Arena last week.

The celebrations came with a surreal twist — just half an hour later, Searle was eating fried chicken in Leicester city centre… and got farted on.

Former pro Matt Edgar lifted the lid on the not-so-glitzy side of life on the ProTour.

He said on the Mission Darts podcast: “Let’s start with day one. Ryan Searle wins the tournament.

“As we know, Ryan’s a good friend of mine. So, after the tournament, I’ve left commentary.

“We go out for some dinner. We get to the room, change our clothes, straight out for dinner. We’ve gone to a fried chicken shop.

“Ryan puts his order in the machine.

“Then the card reader won’t work, and all the machines are down in this shop.

“So, we went right we’ll go somewhere else. So, we’ve walked into the city centre.

“As we’re walking in, we get about 12 people, stoppers asking for any spare change. Can you give me a quid? Can you do this?

“Leicester city centre is terrible for it. I didn’t realise how bad it was. We carry on to another chicken shop.

“We’ve gone in.  So, we’ve sat down. We’ve had the chicken. We’re having a bit of a chat.”

Edgar revealed on the walk back to their hotel, things took an unexpected — and slightly smelly — turn.

He added: “We all start walking back. So, there’s me and Ryan.

“Ryan’s on the left. We’re chatting as we’re going, and he clocks that on this side; there’s a load of people asking for change.

“As he moves from the left to the right, someone cuts across him and farts, like proper, like brrrrrrrrrr.

“So Ryan’s like, for god’s sake, I move from there to there, I get farted on.

“Half an hour earlier, he won a ProTour and then he’s eating fried chicken and getting farted on in Leicester city centre.

“People think darts is glamorous. That’s, you know, so that’s that one.”

Searle has racked up SEVEN PDC titles in a superb career but is still chasing that elusive first major.

‘Heavy Metal’ came agonisingly close in 2021 when he lost 11-10 to Peter Wright in the Players Championship Finals.

But the Devon thrower hasn’t reached a TV event quarter-final since the 2023 World Matchplay.

Searle returns to action on Tuesday night at the World Grand Prix and faces Gerwyn Price in round one.
