Nigerian music superstar David Adeleke, aka Davido, is at the centre of a heated online conversation after a video surfaced.

The viral clip showed the singer’s encounter with a group of elderly women who had gathered around his car to greet him.

The women, believed to be fans, were seen joyfully pressing their faces against the car windows as they called out to him in excitement.

Instead of stepping out or engaging with them, Davido remained in his vehicle and offered what some described as a brief, seemingly uninterested smile.

Legit.ng earlier reported that a Nigerian man captured the hearts of many on social media after publicly appreciating the Afrobeats superstar for a recent act of kindness.

In a viral video posted on X (formerly Twitter), the man, identified as the Lekki Street Boy, emotionally recounted how Davido stepped in to help him during a difficult time by renting him an apartment in Lekki, one of Lagos’ highbrow areas.

Lekki Street Boy was seen in a brief, rushed camera session with the superstar as he expressed his gratitude for the generous assistance.

He disclosed that not only did Davido pay the rent, he also fully furnished the apartment with facilities like an air conditioner and more.

Davido’s video has trended online

The video has since drawn mixed reactions on social media, with many criticising the singer for what they perceived as a dismissive attitude toward women.
