There’s been no official announcement just yet, but Debenhams will likely offer Black Friday discounts.

Historically, Debenhams has offered substantial savings during Black Friday, with up to 85% discounts last year on fashion and beauty items.

What to expect from Debenhams’ Black Friday sale 2025?

Shoppers can look forward to impressive Black Friday deals from Debenhams.

If you’re a bargain lover, you’ll know that the retailer is especially generous during sale season, and it usually rolls out huge reductions across most categories.

Last year, there were significant savings on perfume gift sets and cosmetics from renowned brands such as Ted Baker and Estée Lauder.

Fashion fans were also treated to designer discounts, with savings up for grabs on shoes and boots, coats and jackets, and more, and they didn’t have to wait until the big day itself to bag a deal.

Last year, the retailer launched a selection of deals in the lead-up to Black Friday, so it’s a smart idea to keep an eye out for any early offers.

The sale typically extends through to Cyber Monday, which provides ample opportunity to secure bargains ahead of the festive season.

What was in the Debenhams Black Friday sale last year?

Last year, Debenhams treated shoppers to savings of up to 85% across a wide range of items.

Bargain hunters scored up to 75% off shoes and boots, as well as up to 50% off fragrances, and at least 50% off furniture, and that’s not all.

Menswear, home essentials, and select designer brands were also discounted in the Debenhams Black Friday 2024 sale.

When is Cyber Monday 2025 and is Debenhams taking part?

This year, Cyber Monday takes place on December 1.

The annual shopping event, traditionally geared towards online shoppers, is similar to Black Friday, with many discounts continuing from the weekend.

Although some new discounts may pop up over Cyber Weekend.

Many deals are expected to end on Cyber Monday, but it’s not uncommon for some brands and retailers to extend their sales well beyond this date in the lead-up to Christmas.

Luckily for bargain hunters, Debenhams has participated in Cyber Monday in the past, and will likely do so again this year.

How much does Debenhams’ shipping cost?

For all other orders, UK standard delivery costs £3.99, and UK supersaver delivery costs £2.99.

Who bought Debenhams?

In 2021, online retailer Boohoo bought the Debenhams website and brand for £55 million.

The business was set to be liquidated after JDSports pulled out of bids to save the troubled department store chain.

At the time, Boohoo said the Debenhams deal represented a “fantastic opportunity” to target new customers and launch into the beauty, sports, and homewares market for the first time.

Speaking about the deal at the time, Geoff Rowley, joint administrator and partner of FRP Advisory, said: “We are pleased to have secured the future for this great brand, and to have created the opportunity for a new Debenhams-branded business to emerge in a different shape beyond the pandemic.

“I expect that the agreement with Boohoo may provide some job opportunities but we regret that this outcome does not safeguard the jobs of Debenhams’ employees beyond the winding down period.”

Is Debenhams coming back to the high street?

Debenhams left the high street in 2021 after struggling to recover from the coronavirus pandemic.

Before leaving the high street, shoppers were able to take advantage of some big discounts with prices slashed by up to 80% in the closing down sales.

Online retailer Boohoo bought the website and brand that same year – but the deal excluded all 118 remaining UK stores and 12,000 Debenhams jobs.

Is Debenhams now online only?

As part of the rescue deal by Boohoo Group, the department store was relaunched as an online-only operation.

You can shop for fashion, homeware, fragrances, and more on the Debenhams website.

The result meant all 124 shops closed on high streets up and down the country, and thousands of jobs were cut.

Some of the brand’s most iconic retail spaces across the UK are now being transformed into new entertainment hubs and homes.

This summer, it was announced that the once-thriving Debenhams store in Chelmsford, Essex, which was loved in the 90s, is to be transformed into a cinema, gym, and hundreds of co-living spaces.
