The Flying Eagles of Nigeria will participate in the 24th edition of the FIFA U20 World Cup, scheduled to be hosted by Chile in South America.
Nigeria head into their 14th appearance at the global showpiece from September 27 to October 19, 2025.
They secured qualification after reaching the semi-finals of the 2025 U20 Africa Cup of Nations after beating Senegal in the quarter-final via a penalty shootout.

The Eagles went on to lose the semis to eventual winners South Africa, but they claimed the bronze after beating Egypt in the third-place playoff.
Nigeria are seeking their first FIFA U-20 World Cup title after reaching the final in both 1989 and 2005.
At the last edition in Argentina, they crashed out in the quarterfinal after losing to Korea Republic.
Meanwhile, the squad have departed Abuja and headed straight to finalise their preparations for the tournament, per Foot.Africa.
Coach of the side, Aliyu Zubairu, has picked players from Nigerian academies, NPFL clubs, and European outfits.
Nigeria’s group at FIFA U20 World Cup
The Flying Eagles are drawn in Group F alongside Norway, Saudi Arabia and Colombia.
Coach Zubair said via Punch:
“Coming out of the group is not that we should not negotiate or compromise. We are getting information on our opponents as well, their strengths and individual abilities.
“We respect all the teams in the group. We are not underestimating them, and we cannot compromise, as long as we have the ambition of going beyond our past record.”

Nigeria beat Egypt to win bronze at AFCON U20
Legit.ng earlier reported that Nigeria won the bronze medal at the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) after defeating host Egypt 4-1 in a penalty shootout at the 30 June Stadium in Cairo on Sunday evening, May 18.
