Lifu granted the federal government’s application for adjournment to enable it to bring additional witnesses, and to allow the defendant to open his defence.
The judge further directed the federal government to call its remaining witnesses or tender exhibits to conclude the case.
Dasuki was arrested and charged with misappropriation of $2.1 billion arms purchase funds in 2015 by the administration of former late President Muhammadu Buhari.
Dasuki regained freedom on the eve of Christmas in 2019 after national outcry over disobedience of several court orders, including the ECOWAS Community Court of Justice, for his bail.
He is also facing charges before an FCT High Court filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged misappropriation of N19.4 billion arms funds.

Recall that Dasuki (retd.) was re-arraigned over alleged N33.2 billion fraud.
Dasuki and three others were re-arraigned before Justice Charles Agbaza of the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) filed the charges against Dasuki and other defendants.
Real reasons Dasuki is being investigated
In a similar story, Legit.ng reported that information from Nigeria’s security sources indicates that the present ordeal of Dasuki is due to the alleged mismanagement of funds while he served as the NSA.
It is rumoured that Buhari ordered the arrest of Dasuki because he was the army officer who led soldiers to arrest him (Buhari) on the day he was overthrown as military head of state in August 1985.
Dasuki’s residence in the Asokoro district of Abuja was occupied by officers of the SSS and reportedly took with them $40,000, three automatic rifles, and Dasuki’s travel documents when they vacated the house.
