IT has millions of viewers hooked, so they will be delighted to hear that The Guest already has a second series in development.

The BBC drama centres on the toxic relationship between Ria, portrayed by Gabrielle Creevy, and her mysterious boss Fran, played by Eve Myles.
Fran is a millionaire businesswoman who takes her young cleaner Ria under her wing but the two women’s lives become intertwined.
The four-part psychological thriller, which has drawn comparison with Matt Damon movie The Talented Mr Ripley, was never meant to be a one-off show according to its writer, Matthew Barry.
Talking this week in the Royal Television Society magazine, he said: “From the start, we planned to come back for another season.
“We’d still explore social mobility and class in a Ripley/Parasite-esque thriller, but with different characters and a different story.
“I’ve always been drawn to Ripley-esque thrillers where you enter a world through a character.”
The Guest, which started airing earlier this month, was created by Quay Street Productions and writer Matthew, who together have already made the BAFTA-winning 2023 drama Men Up, about Viagra trials in Wales.
As well as getting good ratings, the reviews for The Guest certainly suggest it has made a big impression.
The descriptions vary from “preposterous” to “a deranged game of Jenga.”
Either way, the show certainly isn’t being ignored.
Matthew added: “Nicola Shindler at Quay Street Productions and I had been talking for years about wanting to create something inspired by those Nineties thrillers.
“You don’t see [them] any more — films with relatable characters and scenarios that gradually escalate until you can’t stop watching.”
Well, hopefully we won’t have to stop.
Come on, BBC, just bite the bullet and sign off on series two.
MICHELLE IS HOT ON FASHION SIENE
FORGET about Netflix fashionista Emily, here is our Michelle in Paris, with the Stockport actress giving any trendsetter in the French capital a run for their money.
Former Coronation Street regular Michelle Keegan was on the banks of the Seine launching her 2025 autumn/winter collection for Very.
Seen donning some figure-hugging dresses, it is hard to believe she only gave birth six months ago to her and husband Mark Wright‘s baby daughter, Palma.
Michelle was taking some rare time out from filming her return to the world of acting in the form of her new ITV thriller, The Blame, where she will star alongside Douglas Booth and Nigel Boyle.
She will play a detective in the six-part drama that features a mysterious death, police corruption, exploitation and misogyny.
With something that gritty, I’m not sure these glam outfits are gonna work . . .
MIRIAM’S BRA-VE FRIENDS
A TV series is being made about Miriam Margoyles and her unusual real-life living arrangements with two housemates.
The actress has revealed she will play herself, and her housemate George, who is an actor, will also star as himself.
But third party Emily, a TV producer, will be replaced with an actress.
Miriam revealed the show will even include a daily ritual they have to perform for her.
She told the Off Air podcast: “They do have bra duty each day. It’s a solemn business.
“The bell rings in the morning and the bell rings in the evening [for the bra] to go on and to go off.
“I don’t mind who does it because I can’t reach the back.
“I haven’t worked out how to do front bras, so I do require help. I just say ‘bra duty!’ and one of them will come down to help me.”
BBC documentary series Missing in Paradise: Searching For Sarm will look at the case of Sarm Heslop, who disappeared from a luxury yacht in the Caribbean and hasn’t been seen since.
It will air on BBC Two on September 17, 18 and 19 at 10pm and will be available on iPlayer.
AIR FLYER BAN FOR JAMIE
TELLY chef Jamie Oliver may have been learning to fly courtesy of wife Jools, but she draws the line at him actually buying a plane.
Talking yesterday on Radio X, he told host Chris Moyles: “She’s not very happy about it.
She said, ‘You thinking about buying a plane?’ I went, ‘No.’ She goes, ‘If you buy a plane, I’m leaving you!’ I’m like, ‘OK.’
“But she did buy me a test day as a birthday present about five years ago.
“She bought me two lessons, and I never took it up. I did five take-offs, five landings.
He goes, ‘Pull over here.’ Then, ‘Right. I’m getting out now. You’re doing your first solo. You on your own, Jack Jones.’ I’ve never sweated so much in all of my life.”
RICKY’S CAT OUT OF BAG
RICKY GERVAIS’s new project, which sees him voice an animated group of felines, has been confirmed by Netflix.
I revealed he was working on the project, a six-part series called Alley Cats for adults, earlier this year.
The streamer couldn’t wait to re-sign the comic since the success of After Life.
His new venture will include other comedians including Diane Morgan, Tom Basden and Kerry Godliman, as well as ex- EastEnder Natalie Cassidy.
Ricky said: “It’s a cross between The Sopranos, One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, Derek And Clive and Only Fools And Horses – but animation and cats.”
