Documents filed at Companies House this week indicate the “voluntary winding up” of W. Chump & Sons.

The firm closed with a whopping £24,087,100 on the books, which would give each of the men some £6million.

It’s the surest sign yet the beloved motoring trio don’t intend to produce further television work together.

Clarkson left the BBC’s Top Gear in 2015 after a row on set and Hammond and May followed.

The three set up new firm W. Chump & Sons that same year and signed a deal with Prime Video to create The Grand Tour.

Premiering in 2016, the new show ran for six series until it wrapped in September last year.

Jeremy is now busy with Clarkson’s Farm, whilst James has been producing travelogues with Channel 5 and Richard has his Richard Hammond’s Workshop for Discovery+.

The Sun exclusively revealed in November 2024 that Clarkson’s Farm would be getting a fifth series.

The beloved Prime Video show returned for its fourth instalment earlier this year.

Elsewhere, The Sun revealed that Richard Hammond‘s Workshop had been greenlit for a fifth series.

The fan-favourite show follows Richard, 55, as he repairs and restores classical cars.

Airing on Quest TV and streamable on Discovery+, it started in 2021 with the founding of Richard’s restoration company The Smallest Cog.

A source said at the time: “Richard Hammond’s Workshop has been a huge success for Discovery+’s streaming service and is one of their biggest factual titles.

“Another eight episodes have been ordered by bosses and Richard is delighted to be able to throw himself back into filming.

“His daughter Izzy will once again star in the show as she tries to bring her dad and the business into the digital age with her skills.

“Fans can expect to see the fifth series later in October.”

Earlier this year, James fronted the Channel 5 factual series The Great Explorers.

It saw him chart the journey of Christopher Columbus, Sir Walter Raleigh and Captain James Cook.

Speaking previously about the series, James said: “TV shows are often described as ‘journeys’ and ‘explorations’; this one really is about journeys and exploration.

“We all think we know the basic pub facts about these three great men, but the reality may come as a bit of a surprise. It certainly was to me.”
