Jeremy Clarkson launches new game based on award winning show to highlight difficulties of farming

TV’S Jeremy Clarkson has launched a mobile game highlighting the difficulties of farming based on his award-winning show.

Beer Farmer lets players step into the his pixelated wellies to grow and harvest ­barley.

Those who complete the game get a real-life 15 per cent online discount for his Hawkstone beer brand.

It launched the game, available by scanning a code on its website, in an effort to give the nation a taste of the back-breaking work that goes into every pint.

Jeremy, who picked up a National Television Award for Clarkson’s Farm on Wednesday, said: “I’ve always said farming is hard, but it turns out this farming game is just as difficult.

“The game makes an excellent point about how much effort goes into growing the ingredients used in Hawkstone.”

Jeremy made a rare appearance at the NTAs to pick up the prestigious award.

Alongside partner Lisa Hogan and show star Harriet Cowan, Jeremy said: “Farming is a difficult job and I appreciate the way people are going, ‘I didn’t know where my sausages came from’.

“You don’t love farming, you love moments of it — it is really tricky right now.

“Farmers work so hard for no money so it’s delightful that people recognise a farming show can beat a house cleaning show.

“We shall go and have a drink.”
