Following her recent musical success, the 47-year-old took to Snapchat to showcase her newest song, which she’s been collaborating on with producer Rick Live.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun, Rick, who first met Katie in 2010, spoke about how her recent musical success came as a very pleasant surprise.
He said: “This was all completely unexpected. My phone started blowing up and I had about 60 missed calls and a load of text messages from people saying ‘you’re back in the charts’.
“It’s mad. Katie’s absolutely buzzing about it, we both are.”
And during that chat, he revealed the name of her new single, Broken, and explained why it’s the perfect song for Katie.
“For her it’s about being broken, but putting herself back together again.
“She says it is something that is quite relevant to her because every time things have gone wrong – whether she’s broken her legs or her relationship’s gone sideways or her exes are blowing up again – she’s like, ‘no, don’t worry about it.
“I’ll reset. I’ll put myself back together again. It’s fine.'”
While plans are also said to be in place for Katie to work with her friend and X Factor winner Sam Bailey.
And Katie has also let it be known she wants to work with another former X Factor contestant, Craig Colton.
She previously shared her excitement at I Got U’s unexpected success.
Writing on Instagram, she said: “How has this happened?
“Number three in the charts, official charts, thank you every one!
“I am so humbled, thank you.”
She then, rather cheekily, re-posted a message referring to her single Free To Love Again, which she captioned: “Does this mean that this banger will make a return now?”
I Got U getting back in the charts even prompted responses from Katie’s children, Princess and Junior, who she shares with ex-husband Peter Andre.
Showing a screengrab of the music chart, 18-year-old Princess wrote: “Well done mum” [clap and heart emojis], while Junior shared a similar response, this time however with laughing emojis, suggesting he was as surprised as anyone at the track re-entering the charts.
