A MAN has died after a horror crash between a car and a lorry on the A1.

Emergency services scrambled to the scene at junction 51 near Leeming Bar in North Yorkshire, just before 10.45pm yesterday.
It involved a blue Suzuki hatchback and a blue Scania lorry, both travelling in the same direction.
Officers said the driver of the Suzuki was pronounced dead at the scene on the northbound carriageway.
The driver of the lorry was not injured, said North Yorkshire Police.
The road was closed with diversions in place for several hours to allow emergency services to work safely at the scene.
Cops carried out investigation work and the vehicles were recovered during this time.
Anyone who witnessed either vehicle prior to the collision, or who has any relevant dashcam footage, has been asked to contact the force.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “We’re appealing to anyone who was travelling north or southbound and either witnessed the collision or saw the vehicles prior to the incident, to get in touch if they have not already spoken to officers at the scene.
“We’re also appealing to anyone with dashcam footage of the collision or the moments leading up to it, taken from either carriageway.”
