This comes through the supermarket giant’s “Clubcard Challenges” scheme for customers.

It means Clubcard members get offered specific spending targets and challenges with a chance to earn the extra points.

But there is a stringent time limit imposed upon the challenge.

The latest round runs between August 11 and September 21 – giving contestants just over a month to attempt their targets.

Those chosen for each round of challenges will receive notifications from the supermarket chain.

One commenter on Facebook said: “So far I’ve done really well off these I’m aiming to save for our eurocamp holiday next May to pay for the camp with just points.

“It’s currently £350 for the week so I only need £50 of more points to get there.

“All done since Christmas it’s been great.”

Another commented: “Thanks…challenges selected.

“The last round was my best one as its stuff I would normally buy.

“Previously not so great. This one looks promising too.”

Tesco’s Clubcard scheme allows shoppers to collect points as they shop at stores.

The points can be turned into vouchers for money off food or other reward partner schemes.

This scheme often sees members rushing to stores to cash in on the latest deals.

One recent offering saw Slumberdown duvets slashed in price at Tesco’s, as flagged by a Facebook user.

For Tesco Club card members only, single duvets were reduced from £20 to only £8.

Shoppers also hurried to their nearest Tesco to try a new salted caramel flavoured KitKat Chunky.

The limited edition bar has been dubbed the perfect balance of sweet and salty.

Insider tip from a Tesco employee

A Tesco employee has revealed a surprising secret about the self-scan trolleys.

According to the worker, random checks on customers using these trolleys are not entirely random.

The checks are actually triggered by a specific customer habit.

If you frequently pick up and put down items without scanning them, you’re more likely to be selected for a check.

This is due to the system detecting suspicious behaviour, which could indicate potential theft.

So, to avoid delays, it’s best to scan items immediately after placing them in your trolley.
