SHOPPERS have just days left to try this summer’s most viral food.

Marks and Spencer’s issued a “Strawberry and Creme Sandwich alert” announcing it is the last chance to try the unique sweet treat before it is taken off supermarket shelves.
The posh grocer took inspiration from a viral Japanese trend when they launched the Red Diamond Strawberry & Crème Sandwich in June.
The £2.80 luxury sandwich was packed with strawberries and a whipped cream cheese filling, all hugged between slices of sweet bread.
It was a huge viral hit on social media with hundreds of food influencers and TikTok stars trying the unusual meal.
Even The Sun’s Fabulous reporter Leanne Hall decided to put the new creation to the test.
“This new addition to the M&S summer food collection is one you won’t want to miss,” Leanne said.
“The concept may seem strange, but it works.”
Despite the sandwich being popular across social media, M&S have now announced they will be axed soon.
They posted on Instagram: “The summer sandwich sensation – our Red Diamond Strawberry & Creme Sandwich will only be available for a few more days.
“Yes, that’s right – it’s your last chance to get hold of our limited-edition sarnie so make sure you run and don’t walk to your local Foodhall to grab a few slices of M&S Food history!”
It is unclear if the sandwich will return next year.
But many M&S shoppers have begged the supermarket to make it an annual sale.
One said: “Please do this one again next year, it was delicious.”
A second wrote on social media: “I really like it, please bring it back next year! I will have to buy my last one this Saturday.”
A third even cheekily added: “I’m having two for breakfast tomorrow!”
M&S has a long history of sandwich innovation, having introduced freshly made sandwiches in the 1920s and revolutionising the UK high street with pre-packed sandwiches in the 1980s.
Since then, the retailer has sold over four billion sandwiches, making this latest launch a bold new addition to its portfolio.
And with summer-themed items now leaving stores across the UK, some major supermarkets are already selling Christmas goods.
A Morrisons shopper was left stunned after they spotted a festive display of treats at their local.
Joe Andrew was visiting the supermarket with his children Summer, 11, William, six, and four-year-old Jack, when he came across the confectionary.
He photographed boxes of Smarties, MilkyBar, and Fruit Pastilles that all had yuletide imagery on them.
