Mum’s savage reaction to the ruined dinner

A video on Instagram which shows a mother screaming at her kids over a ruined family dinner has gone viral.

In the clip, the livid mother appeared to be praying as she shouted: “Why did you give me kids that are not f****** normal.

“I’ve just given you a whole plate of roast dinner and you’ve just thrown it up the stairs.”

She then moved to the stairs where the food had been dropped and screamed: “Why do I bother? Is it just my kids that are not f****** normal?

“Who takes a whole plate of dinner and goes I want to eat it upstairs and then walks up and throws it on the stairs.”

As she began to pick the ruined dinner up her child replied: “I fell down the stairs.”

“You don’t fall down the stairs, you were walking up the stairs. How can you fall down the stairs when you are walking up the stairs,” ranted the mother.

Her child replied: “And then I tripped.”

“On what, yourself?” snapped back the mother.

“The stairs he replied.”

I have cancer & my toddler wipes away my tears every night…but here’s why I’m STOPPING all treatment

Followers’ reactions to the video clip were divided

The mother’s angry reaction left social media users divided in their opinion of how she handled the situation.

One wrote: “I feel her pain. We see you mama.”

Another added: “She’s f****** tired, she’s extremely overwhelmed and over stimulated and it seems like no one gives a flying f*** about her mental and emotional being.”

A third explained: “I saw a very overworked overstimulated mom, we see you mama.”

Single Parent Facts and Figures

Single parent charity Gingerbread is fighting to create a society where all single parents and their children thrive. These are the organisation’s latest figures on single parenthood…

  • There are two million single parents with dependent children in the UK, 89% of which are headed up by single mums
  • A depressing 44% of children in single parent families are in poverty compared to 26% in couple families
  • Around 13% of single parent households with dependent children used a food bank in the last 12 months compared to 3% of couple households with dependent children
  • Less than 1% of single parents are teenagers, and this continues to decline – with the average age of a single parent in the UK being 39-years-old
  • Research found that 36% of single parent families with dependent children have no savings, compared to 17% of couple families with dependent children

While another wrote: “She’s at her wits end. She needs a break. I hope she has someone in her life who will step in & let her have some me time.”

But others were not so supportive and one wrote: “No, sorry. I have children and I’m a single parent in practice and I don’t shout at them like that because they drop something.

“Accidents happen. It’s a bummer, but it doesn’t justify getting like that.

“That mother needs to regulate herself and understand that they’re not doing it to annoy her.

“Let the child who dropped it pick it up and clean it up. Accidents happen very often and children are clumsy.

“It’s unfair to get yelled at like that for something you did unintentionally.”

Another explained: “I don’t care . I am a mom too. You do not talk like this about your child!

“This words will go with then everywhere and forever go get help.”

While a third stated: “There is no way a parent should be using that kind of language on a child. Or anybody in that case. This is domestic abuse. No matter how frustrated.

“Those children will now grow up thinking that they aren’t normal. That they are failures. And they can’t do anything right.

“This is a mother who hasn’t self parented or healed her in child and is likely reacting to her own pains of ‘not being heard’ as a child.

“She needs to step back. Heal her self and her kids will follow.”

Single mums are carrying so much on their shoulder

The video clip of the mother was captioned: “We’ve got to stop being so quick to judge mothers—or parents in general.

“Unless there’s abuse or truly harmful behaviour happening, what most moms need isn’t judgment… it’s compassion.

Single moms especially are carrying so much on their shoulders every single day. Balancing work, bills, kids, and their own emotions isn’t easy, yet people act like they should always have it all together.

“A little support, a kind word, or even just understanding instead of criticism can go a long way.

“You may not realize it, but that grace could be the very thing that gets a mom through her hardest day.

“So let’s extend more compassion and less judgment. Moms are already doing the hardest job in the world—what they need most is for us to stand with them, not against them.”
