She took to TikTok to share the embarrassing situation, as she admitted she’s “f**ked up so, so bad”.

Amy explained that her parents are in the process of redecorating their house, and had already bought the bottle green paint for their bedroom.

So, when they went on holiday, she seized the opportunity, and decided to paint it for them.

But, as she showed off the finished wall, she admitted it had taken her four HOURS, and didn’t look too good when you look at it closely.

“I very quickly realised that I should have used masking tape,” she added.

“Because the lines are not straight.”

The paint had also got onto the floor, but Amy said her parents were getting carpet laid, so she’s hoping it won’t be too much of a problem.

Likewise, the big white scratch that had been left on the lino from her moving the chest of drawers.

Following the epic disaster, Amy said she’s decided not to go ahead with her initial plan to paint the whole room – and instead has changed to having a “feature wall”.

“My questions are: one, is it as bad as I think it is in my head?” she asked.

Kate Lawler locked in bitter row with neighbour after controversial move – whose side are YOU on-

“And what do I tell them? Do I tell them now while they’re still on holiday?

“Do I wait until they’re back in the UK and tell them?

“Do I wait until they come home and be like, haha, look at the s**t show your daughter’s left you as a thank you?”

She concluded by pleading with her followers to “help me!”

“My attempt at a nice gesture has gone severely wrong… please help!” she added in the caption.

The comments section was immediately filled, with the majority of people insisting the wall is actually just as bad as Amy thinks it is – if not worse.

Why the ‘Tanning Mitt Painting’ trend isn’t as good as it seems

Painting door frames and banisters with a tanning mitt is a DIY trend everyone is obsessing over on social media.

But Rebecca Miller, Fabulous’ Associate Editor, and DIY-enthusiast reveals why you should put down the tanning mitt, and revert back to the old-fashioned paintbrushes and rollers for your next painting project.

“A tanning mitt might be a cost-effective solution to painting your home, but it can’t compete with a traditional paintbrush or roller.

Tanning mitts offer a smooth, even application, but it doesn’t compare to the professional and precise finish of a brush or roller.

When it comes to painting detailed areas, like edges and corners, a paintbrush is the best tool for a job.

Equally, if you are applying a new paint colour, you might need several coats of paint, and a tanning mitt can only provide very thin coats of paint – meaning you’d be spending more hours on the job!

Painting brushes and rollers are also much easier to clean and are longer lasting. Tanning mitts usually need throwing out after one use which is neither good for the planet nor your wallet.”

“Get someone in to sort it, it’s a real mess,” one insisted.

“Girl! It is worse than you think. I’d move out,” another sighed.

“It’s a mess I’m afraid,” a third commented.

“I’m a decorator with 42 years experience. Get a professional in for a day or 2 to sort it out.”

“Oh no, I would move out before they get home!” someone else agreed.

“Get a professional in. Next time deep clean or cook to say thank you!” another suggested.

“So a little update… don’t worry, help has been called!” Amy then added in response to all the comments.

“I should say though that the whole room is getting painted that colour, it’s not just that wall.

“Also the paint I have done looks a bit uneven in the video but it’s because of the fancy light they have in there which shines the light like a kaleidoscope.

“It is actually even though, I promise!!

“But thank you for all the advice!”
