New mum Jesy Nelson shares special memories of ‘twin life’ – four months after premature birth

JESY Nelson has shared a video of rapper boyfriend Zion Foster singing to their twin daughters, who were born prematurely.

The Little Mix star gave birth to identical twins, Ocean Jade and Story Monroe in May. The girls were born premature at 31 weeks and five days.

In the video shared on Jesy’s Instagram page, Zion, 26, can be seen singing the theme tune from the cartoon Family Guy, as Jesy, 34, films the sweet interaction.

She can be heard asking the girls: “You like that? You like Daddy’s silly singing? Do you like Daddy’s silly singing?”

Then as both twins appear to enjoy being serenaded, Zion says: “They smiled right at the end.”

Earlier this year, in her first interview since giving birth, Jesy spoke to hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary, on ITV show This Morning, about the rare condition that could have proved fatal for her babies in the womb.

Jesy was forced to live in hospital for weeks after she was diagnosed with twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS).

TTTS is a rare but potentially deadly condition in which blood flows unevenly between identical twins sharing a placenta.

During the interview Jesy also spoke about having a “threatened miscarriage” early on in the pregnancy.

As she sat holding Ocean Jade, Jesy then revealed how she and Zion are able to differentiate between the girls.

She said: “Ocean is receding a little bit bless her. So that’s how we can tell (them apart)”.

And she also shed further light on why her pregnancy had been so difficult.

Jesy said: “I mean when we first found out we were having twins which was just crazy we were ecstatic over the moon. Zion looked like he’d seen a ghost.

“Had the scan and immediately the guy told us I have to refer you to a twin specialist.

“The next day, the doctor sat us down and told us all the complications. I felt like, I couldn’t believe the percentages and what could potentially happen. From that point I couldn’t enjoy my pregnancy.

“They told us we could only take it two weeks at a time, I didn’t even want to announce it.

“When I look back now it makes me so sad, it’s supposed to be the happiest time. We had no idea this could happen with twins.”

During that interview, Jesy and Zion were also joined on the sofa by their consultant, Dr Ruwan Wimalasundera.

And Zion explained just how helpless he felt at that time.

He said: “I just felt whilst Jess was going through it all, words of reassurance is all I could do and trying to stay positive.”
