Oliver Glasner threatens to QUIT Crystal Palace as FA Cup-winning boss blasts Eagles’ ‘passive’ transfer window

OLIVER GLASNER has threatened he could leave Crystal Palace due to a frustrating summer window.

The Eagles boss has one year left on his deal and cast his future into doubt after venting his frustrations over their “passive” summer.

Glanser even joked that he could follow the path of captain Marc Guehi, who is prepared to run down his contract and leave on a free next summer.

The Austrian complained about a slow window and late signings last summer and both he and chairman Steve Parish discussed not making the same mistakes following their FA Cup triumph in May.

Asked about his future, Glasner said: “No, no negotiations.

“At the moment it’s three weeks time to get the squad done, so Oliver Glasner’s contract is not important at the moment.”

Asked if the business done in the next three weeks would impact his desire to discuss new terms, Glanser bluntly added: “We will see.”

When later quizzed on Guehi’s situation, he joked: “Marc and me will have the same fate.”

Palace have signed Walter Benitez, a back-up goalkeeper, and left-back Borna Sosa to replace Matt Turner and Ben Chilwell after their respective loans.

But Glasner wants at least two more arrivals, one in defence and one up front.

He said: “We were quite passive.

“We replaced Matt Turner with Walter Benitez and we replaced Ben Chilwell with Sosa.

“It’s good to have them in the building.

“We have to add a few players to be ready for this competition.

“We are short of numbers and if we want to be competitive in all four competitions, we have to add players and especially players with quality.

“This is what we have to do in the next three weeks because then the window closes.

“It looks like we have six games from Sunday to the end of August. That’s why we have to act.”
