Tasha Ghouri to star in surprising reality show that’s worlds away from Love Island – and it’ll be major ‘culture shock’

WHEN Tasha Ghouri started on Strictly she said her boyfriend was the hottest man on the planet and wanted to marry him.

Then four months later, the ex-Love Island star was looking for a new fella on dating app Raya.

Now, after apparently falling victim to that show’s curse last year, it seems Tasha might be in search of a blessing after signing up for religious programme Pilgrimage.

The BBC Two favourite sees a group of celebs undergo a journey of faith where their values are tested or heightened by the shared experience.

The season currently being filmed will be the first one made in England, specifically Northumberland, which was a county pivotal in spreading Christianity across the UK.

A TV insider said: “A former Love Islander with no apparent religious leanings isn’t the obvious choice for a show exploring faith.

“But then that’s part of the point, because it brings together people from certain religions, or no religions, and the journey they go on sparks deeper discussions about their differing world views.

“Though it all sounds rather heavy, viewers have lapped up the show since it launched seven years ago and it’s delivered some tender and funny moments of telly.

“Though it will be a particular culture shock for Tasha as the windswept coast of Northumberland will be a far cry from the poolside of the Love Island villa.”

A famous route in Northumberland is The Pilgrim’s Way which takes visitors to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne.

He is heard looking back on his wild life in Ozzy: No Escape From Now, which will air on Paramount+ on October 7.

In an interview for the show he initially jokes: “The thing about getting older, you know, I used to take pills for fun, now I just take them to stay alive.”

But afterwards he adds: “If my life is coming to an end, I really can’t complain – I’ve had a great life.”

But Paramount+ has serious competition after the BBC announced that it is releasing its Ozzy doc, Coming Home, on October 2.

HAVE I Got News For You is returning for its 70th series on October 3 on BBC One. It sees the show mark 35 years on air.

The four-parter will air next year and is expected to stay true to to Charles Dickens’ original story, starting in London in 1782.

Tensions run high between France and Britain as a young woman, Lucie Manette (MIirren Mack), receives a message from Paris which says her father, assumed dead for almost 20 years, may be alive.

The messenger – idealistic French emigré, Charles Darnay (Francois Civil) – is arrested and charged with treason.

Lucie enlists lawyer Sydney Carton, played by Kit, to free Darnay so he can lead her to Paris to track down her father.

JOSH’S IN A HOUSE PARTY

FUNNYMAN Josh Widdicombe has even managed to find a home that’s amusing – it’s the pad previously occupied by Noel Edmonds.

No, not the “stately pile” which was at the heart of the presenter’s Nineties show, Noel Edmond’s House Party.

This is the bearded TV star’s former house near Exeter, in Devon, the county where Josh spent most of his youth.

In the latest episode of the Parenting Hell podcast, which he co-hosts with fellow comedian Rob Beckett, he talks about moving with his wife Rose and their two children from Hackney to Noel’s former home.

Josh says: “Just to be clear, it isn’t in Crinkley Bottom – it isn’t the house we used to see on Saturday nights on the TV.”

But he does confirm that there’s more than a hint of Mr Blobby about the place, admitting: “All of the wallpaper is pink and yellow, strangely!”

QI is returning to BBC Two this autumn.

The quiz show will come back with “Series W” and Sandi Toksvig resuming hosting duties alongside Alan Davies as regular team captain. Plus there’ll be special guests including Chris Mccausland, Gyles Brandreth and Patrick Kielty.
