Akure, Ondo state – Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has suspended three officials over alleged job scam in the recent Ondo state teachers’ recruitment exercise.
Legit.ng recalls that the state government embarked on the recruitment of teachers into primary and secondary schools across the 18 local government areas of the state.

The suspended government officials include two directors and a deputy director.
According to Vanguard, finding revealed that the officials remain suspended, pending the outcome of investigation.
Governor Aiyedatiwa ordered a full scale investigation into the alleged scam and set up a committee to further investigate the case.
Aiyedatiwa also directed the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) to invite the defrauded applicants for a meeting.
The state government had recently embarked on the recruitment of teachers into primary and secondary schools across the 18 local government areas of the state.
Some of the newly recruited teachers protested against their exclusion from the ongoing biometric verification exercise.
The government said the appointment letters of the protesters were forged, stating that that they are not teachers but victims of job scam.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, said three officers connived with external fraudsters to issue fake employment and posting letters to job seekers in exchange for money.
Adeniyan said the protesters were not among the more than 2,000 legitimately recruited teachers.
He disclosed that the recruited teachers have already resumed work.
“To clarify, those who protested were not employed teachers but applicants defrauded by scammers who issued fake employment and posting letters after collecting money from them.
“These defrauded applicants were identified during the biometric verification process and informed that their letters were fake.
“Already, disciplinary action has been taken against three SUBEB insiders who allegedly colluded with external individuals to defraud the applicants.”
KWASUED: Recruitment for teaching, non-teaching staff
Recall that Kwara State University of Education (KWASUED), Ilorin announced a major recruitment drive for both teaching and non-teaching staff across diverse academic and administrative disciplines.
The institution is seeking qualified professionals to fill positions ranging from Senior Lecturer to Internal Auditor, with clear eligibility criteria and academic benchmarks.

University of Jos recruitment: 2025 applications commences
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that the University of Jos (UNIJOS) in Plateau state, launched its 2025 recruitment drive, opening academic opportunities across 19 faculties.
Qualified candidates are invited to submit applications in line with federal university standards and within a six-week deadline.
The process requires detailed documentation and confidential referee reports to be uploaded via the University’s online portal.
