THE Sun scooped Best Online Video in the prestigious Future of Media Awards for our groundbreaking documentary Madeleine McCann: The Unseen Evidence.

The film, which followed a year-long investigation by award-winning reporter Rob Pattinson, uncovered bombshell evidence around Christian Brueckner – the only remaining suspect in the disappearance.
It was praised by the judges of the Press Gazette awards on Thursday evening as: “An excellent piece of investigative journalism, marrying new revelations with visually compelling storytelling.”
The Sun’s Editor in Chief Victoria Newton said: “This was a true team effort across departments, combining our unparalleled journalism with innovative video production.”
She commended the video and news teams for delivering a “gripping documentary of immense public interest.
“This is a fantastic achievement for the entire team,” she added.

The documentary, which premiered on Channel 4 on May 7, was produced by Director of Video Jon Lloyd and directed by Max Molyneux.
Head of News Alex Goss and photographer Dan Charity also worked on the film.
Speaking about the documentary in The Sun, Pattinson previously said: “After months of trailing Brueckner, I could imagine nothing more terrifying than seeing him released back into society.
“Not only have I combed over his past offences with sickening details of his depravity, but I have seen first hand the haul of circumstantial evidence against him.
“After sitting on this information for months, it is frankly a relief to finally share it with the world in our dossier.”
