Paris Saint-Germain have defeated Tottenham to win the 2025 UEFA Super Cup at the Stadio Friuli, Udine and received a huge financial reward.
The UEFA Europa League winners appeared to have taken a cue from their London neighbours Chelsea who beat PSG in the Club World Cup final, by racing to a 2-0 lead, but bottled the lead in the closing stages.

Spurs scored late in the first half and early in the second half through centre-backs Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero to get the job done.
A late fightback from the French Ligue 1 champions, with two late goals from Kang-in Lee and Goncalo Ramos, was enough to take the game to penalties.
Luis Enrique’s side shrugged off Vitinha’s miss and won the shootout after Mathys Tel and van de Ven missed their spot kicks.
PSG’s new goalkeeper, Lucas Chevalier, saved the Dutch defender’s spot kick to redeem himself from an error during the match.
PSG’s UEFA Super Cup cash prize
According to Diario AS, the UEFA Super Cup is a one-game competition of two European champions with limited financial reward.
Both clubs earned €4 million for turning up, while the winner, Paris Saint-Germain, in this case, receives an extra €1.1 million, taking their earnings to €5.1mil.
The French champions have now won five trophies this season, including their first Champions League. Chelsea denied them a historic sextuple.
