Ahead of this Saturday’s pre-recorded launch show, Vicky, 37, opened up about how nervous and anxious she is about being part of the show.
Speaking to The Sun Online and other media, Vicky said: “I’m nervous and neurotic, I’m like a coiled spring. I’m a mess.”
While Strictly fans will have to wait and see who her pro partner is, Vicky said she was thrilled with who she had as they are “calm”.
Vicky also spoke about the fact she had taken part in shows like I’m a Celebrity – twice – but that it hadn’t helped her feel any more confident going into Strictly.
She explained: “I was 10 years younger. There’s something youthfully arrogant about you in your 20s. And I was.
“I had so much to prove and I was so ready for people to see something different.
“And I just went for it. And I wish I could have a little bit more of that confidence now if I’m honest.”
She added: “But also as well, this is a skill. In the jungle you’re being yourself.
“But with this I’m learning a skill and I’m struggling with it.”
Trying to make light of the situation, Vicky said: “It’s a baptism of fire, we got the video back last night [from rehearsals], in my head I thought I looked like Swan Lake, and it was really graceful.
“And then I actually looked like some f***ing drunken bird being lifted out of a nightclub.”
Jokingly referring to her antics on Geordie Shore all those years ago, she added: “I’m going back to what I know, clearly.”
Last week, Vicky broke down in tears over her mental health battle ahead of the first live show.
Speaking on her Get A Grip podcast with fellow Strictly star Angela Scanlon, who competed on the show in 2023, she said: “I went back to therapy, but I pretty much cried for three hours straight.”

Vicky is working with the Speakmans who TV viewers will know from This Morning, and the trio did an exercise where they wrote everything down and went through the points one by one.
She explained: “And I wrote, like, all the reasons why I was doing Strictly.
“They write them down on a board for me and I sat, it was super illuminating.”
“And I was like, I want to prove to people that I can do it, and that I’m more than just like a reality TV star,” she cried.

Geordie Shore (2011-2014): Vicky Pattison first gained public attention as a cast member of the MTV reality series. The show, which premiered in 2011, chronicles the lives of a group of young adults living together in Newcastle upon Tyne. Ex on the Beach (2014): In 2014, Vicky Pattison joined the first ever season of Ex on the Beach, an MTV reality series that brings together singles and their ex-partners for a dramatic beachside experience. She navigated complicated relationships and explosive confrontations, particularly with her ex-boyfriend, Ricci Guarnaccio, who also appeared on the series. Vicky’s time on the show was marked by her outspoken nature and candid approach to resolving past romantic issues.
I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! (2015): In 2015, Vicky participated in the fifteenth series of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, where she emerged as the winner. Celebrity MasterChef (2019): Vicky showcased a different side of her personality as she competed in the celebrity cooking competition. Vicky ended up in tears on the chat show herself in 2016, when she participated in an experiment about self image. The star could be seen breaking down as she listened back to a video where she listed all the negative comments she makes to herself in her mind.
This Morning: Made several guest appearances. In one she spoke about being traumatised by her break up with fiancé John Noble, and in another Vicky delved into a personal documentary she made about alcoholism.
Second-Hand Showdown: Vicky currently hosts the fashion show on Channel 4.

“I want to make my family proud. They love it. I want to have, you know, a nice home, financial security.”
