Organisers of the Trendupp Awards have officially opened public nominations for the 2026 edition of the ceremony.
According to a statement released on Friday, the sixth instalment will continue the event’s tradition of celebrating influencers and digital content creators who are driving Africa’s online space through originality, reliability, and audience interaction.
Tiwalola Olanubi, founder and CEO of Trendupp Africa, described this year’s event as the start of a fresh chapter for the organisation.
“The sixth edition of Trendupp Awards is significant for us at Trendupp Africa as it marks the beginning of a new journey. After five years of pioneering this space, plans have been rolled out to ensure this edition doubles its impact in the celebration of African digital creativity,” he said.
Olanubi also revealed the addition of a new award category called ‘Force of Streaming,’ designed to honour creators who generate significant engagement and viral reach through live-streaming platforms.
“This year, we have introduced a new category tagged ‘Force of Streaming’ to recognise the influencers and content creators who command the highest engagement and virality power via streaming,” he added.
“This addition is a strategic move for the Trendupp Awards, demonstrating our commitment to evolving with the digital space and formally recognising the influential and growing trend of live streaming.
“This opens a new avenue for validation for creators and solidifies the awards’ status at the forefront of digital creativity across Africa.”
The 2026 Trendupp Awards will recognise influencers and content creators whose work made a notable impact between March 2025 and March 2026.
Categories open for nominations include ‘Force of TikTok’, ‘Force of Lifestyle Content’, ‘Force of Creative Arts’, ‘Force of Instagram’, ‘Force of X’, ‘Force of Virality’, ‘Force of Online Sensation’ and ‘Force of Food Content’.
