The African Union Youth Council (AUYC) Nigeria Chapter is pleased to announce the official appointment of Akubor Tennyson Danladi as an African Youth Ambassador.
The appointment was formally ratified at the AUYC National Secretariat in Abuja, marking a new chapter in youth-led diplomacy and leadership within the Federal Capital Territory and across the federation.
As an African Youth Ambassador, Mr. Danladi will serve as a key intermediary between Nigerian youth and the African Union’s broader objectives. His mandate includes championing the AU Agenda 2063, advocating for the African Youth Charter, and driving initiatives centered on peace, security, and sustainable development.
The AUYC Nigeria Chapter, headquartered in Maitama, Abuja, is a pivotal body dedicated to transforming the passion of young Nigerians into actionable power. In his new role, Mr. Danladi will focus on the “Project 4Es” framework—Education, Engagement, Entrepreneurship, and Employment—aimed at bridging the gap between youth potential and continental progress.
”This appointment is a profound responsibility,” said Akubor Tennyson Danladi during his acceptance address. “The youth of Nigeria are not just the leaders of tomorrow; we are the drivers of today’s innovation. My focus will be on ensuring that the voices of our young people are heard at the highest levels of decision-making, fostering a self-reliant and unified Africa.”
The AUYC leadership noted that Mr. Danladi’s track record of excellence and his recent recognition as one of the 100 Iconic Personalities of the Year were instrumental in his selection.
His appointment comes at a time when the AU is intensifying efforts to empower 1 million young Africans by 2030 through its “1 Million Next Level” initiative.
